There is something incredibly personal about sitting in a makeup chair.
Whether you’re getting ready to walk down the aisle, step in front of a camera, celebrate a milestone, or simply learn how to feel more confident doing your own makeup, you’re trusting someone to see you—and to help you still look and feel like yourself when you leave.
That belief is at the heart of Artistry by Jen.
Where It Started
My career in beauty didn’t begin when I opened Artistry by Jen. I’ve spent years working in the cosmetics industry, including time with brands such as Clinique, Estée Lauder, and Dior. Those experiences taught me about products, technique, luxury service, skin, color, and the little details that can completely change the way makeup looks and wears.
But somewhere along the way, I realized that what I loved most wasn’t simply makeup.
It was the person in my chair.
I loved figuring out what made someone feel beautiful. I loved adapting makeup to different faces, personalities, events, lighting, skin types, and comfort levels. And I loved creating an experience where someone could relax and know they were being taken care of.
In 2022, Artistry by Jen officially began.
Where Elegance Meets Empowerment
My philosophy has never been about covering someone up or turning every client into the same version of “glam.”
I want you to recognize yourself.
Maybe that means luminous skin and a soft rose lip. Maybe it means polished bridal makeup that lasts through the Florida heat, happy tears, photographs, and dancing. Maybe it means getting someone camera-ready for a commercial or television interview on a tight production schedule.
The look changes.
The standard of care doesn’t.
That’s where my motto, Where Elegance Meets Empowerment, comes from. Beauty can be elegant without being intimidating, and makeup can enhance your confidence without changing who you are.
Artistry Beyond the Makeup Chair
Today, Artistry by Jen has grown beyond where it started.
I provide bridal and special-event makeup, traditional and airbrush services, makeup lessons, commercial and production makeup, spray tanning, and other customized beauty services. I’ve had the opportunity to work with brides, professionals, television talent, production crews, and clients preparing for some of the most photographed moments of their lives.
And I’m still learning.
That is one of the things I love most about this industry. Products evolve. Techniques evolve. Trends come and go. But good artistry requires continuing to study your craft while understanding which trends actually serve the person sitting in front of you.
Why Start a Blog?
That brings me here.
Over the years, I’ve collected a lot of beauty knowledge—and I’m a firm believer that professional expertise shouldn’t have to feel mysterious.
This blog will be a place where I can share some of it with you.
You’ll find makeup tips, bridal preparation advice, product education, spray tan guidance, behind-the-scenes stories, and deeper explanations of the things I often find myself discussing with clients.
